The students of the II-Year went on an educational tour to learn about rasa preparations used practically. It was a three day camp. The first day (23/02/2017) was a trip to Humpi. On the second day (24/02/2017), there was a depiction of the preparation of Rasasindura by Kupipakwa method and a description about the necessary items to be kept in the rasashala. It was a half-day programme. Followed by this was a seminar in the evening, delivered by Dr. Gop Krishna, explaining the uses of rasa-aushadhis in treating cancer. Dr. Gopi Krishna also showed the students videos of his own treatment procedures used against cancer. The third day (25/02/2017) was about the description of ratnas, uparatnas, maharas, uparas and Dhatus. The students also got the opportunity to see polished and unpolished versions of these. Following this, there was a seminar, which was a continuation of the earlier session. They also witnessed the preparation of “Tamragarbhapottali”, which was also subsequently given to our college as a compliment by Dr. Gopi Krishna. The students were awarded certificates of participation. They were accompanied by Dr. B. Saravanan, Dr. Mallikarjun Rao, Dr. Ramdas Maganti, along with the support of Mrs. Sheela Rani Chunkath.
